Have You Let the Earth Hold You Today?
So. How's your body today?
That precious container, temple, miracle of yours that walks, talks and breathes throughout your day. Call it what you want. It's worth loving with all you've got. Right now, how does it feel? For 5 seconds, check in. Is your body tense, tired, heavy, vibrant, electric, in-flow... something else?
Maybe, just maybe...
Your body wants to feel held.
Maybe it's been a while. Maybe you haven't felt held, in that deep-down-unconditional-Love way of holding, like when you were in your mother's womb... in a long while. Being held, feeling held, is far from silly. It's beautiful and it is essential on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. Ultimately we can learn to fully hold ourselves. When we learn to hold ourselves, we can then see that the whole world is holding us.

One of the most inspiring people I've found in the arena of how to create and maintain wellness in the human body is Pete Kirchmer, Sports Medicine Master Trainer and founder of Mindfulness Based Health. The second I met Pete in San Diego
in 2009, I could sense something powerful about his wisdom, skill and presence. This month I interviewed Pete on the topic of Mindfulness and a Healthy Lifestyle. It's free to listen or download here.

I'm honored to announce that I've been invited to join the Braided Way community of writers. Braided Way is "a framework to see every faith tradition as a strand, braided into a larger whole of spiritual awareness." My first post is the letter I wrote to Stevie Wonder, titled Overjoyed: A Love Letter to Music. I've long admired those accept and celebrate other people's spiritual beliefs. Kudos to Braided Way for their inspired work!
If you have a child or have deeply loved someone else's child, you likely relate to the love I feel for my "small friends." For this month's Motherhood Letters column, I wrote to the handful of delightful young humans in my life, on the topic of beauty in the world. Kids dig letters! And I dig kids. Perhaps there's a child in your life who would love to receive a hand written note from you today?

Still seems kinda crazy in 2018, but indeed after being regularly engaged in it for nine years, I left social media one month ago. And I don't miss it at all!
Since many people want more mindfulness when it comes to their screen device use, and some consider quitting like I did, I will write and share about my learnings, tips and how I re-routed -- so I feel more content without social media than I did with it -- in an upcoming blog post.
Here's my Farewell, Social Media piece in case you missed it.
