Letter Writing, Spirituality 101 and a Dinner Co-op
It's summertime in wine country.
This evening as I trimmed the grapevines in our backyard, my thoughts wandered back to afternoons as a child in the 1980s at my uncle Juan's house in Sonoma.
I'd always liked this region. Slow pace, kissed with ocean vitality and a great city nearby, old Latin flair breathing from the fertile soil, endless good food.
After 20 years living elsewhere, I returned to the region where I was raised. Are we just fond of where we're rooted? I am. Though who knows where future winds will blow us. And there's something settling about knowing we're never really settled anywhere, but in our hearts. Time and motion, unpredictable.
Summer days find me infused with the spaciousness I... so... needed last month. Dang, things were tough inside my head.
Now, ahhh... big exhale. Writing a lot... Reveling in the presence of children 'cause I so dig them... Dreaming up how I want to love people through workshops... Just giving who I am, because that is SO easy to do.
Art that's not pressured by the need to make money.
Art that's totally free, and totally from within.
