You + National Letter Writing Month!

Happy National Letter Writing Month!
I’ve got something to share with you that’s got so much joy packed inside, it’ll be the only thing today’s newsletter is about! I just want to get this out to you so that anyone who wants to join, can do so right away.
As a lifelong letter writer, I am floored by the power of the art. Letter writing — or card writing, essentially the art of personal correspondence — is the art of expressing truth and love in relationship.
It deepens intimacy between writer and recipient. It is therapeutic for the writer. It enhances mindfulness and decreases stress. It increases joy and releases pain. It brings more gratitude and pleasure into our lives.
What’s not to love? I mean, what’s not to really, really love about this!?

For the month of April...
For the month of April, I am offering a free 30-day guided letter writing journey. Every day I’m filming a short (~3 min) video to share, about a specific letter you can write, to be part of this journey. Text and email are useful, but they do not compare to letter writing knocks them out of the ballpark when it comes to real, life transforming benefits.

On Day 1 we wrote a letter to our favorite person -- or one of them.
Day 2 was a letter to our least favorite person. Ooooooh... Edgy, right?
Today is Day 3 and we are writing to a child who we know. A real life child who we value and love.
Now, are you ready for some sweet myth-busting for your Monday?
1) There is no right way or wrong way with letter writing. Whatever you write is perfectly fine. Length, too. One sentence, 12 pages, all good.
2) You never, ever have to give your letter to anyone. You can tape it in your journal, burn it or toss it out to sea (well, maybe not that, but it does sound romantic). Your letters are your art, and you only share them when you want to.
And last...
3) You can write to living people or those who’ve gone. You can write to people you know or people you don’t, like Barack Obama or Donald Trump, Lynne Twist or Maya Angelou. One of the most powerful letters you’ll ever write? To yourself. We’ll be doing some of that.

Wanna join? Good!
I hope you’re on Facebook. To be able to do this for free, I’ve gotta make it easy on myself. So this time around it’s only available on Facebook. To join, simply “like” Leaning into Light on FB so you’ll be able to see the videos every day.
Just sign in, watch the video from April 1st (no April Fools involved) and yesterday’s too if you want. Or just start with today.
Again: no right or wrong here. This is for you. This is for Love. Because as a reminder — and we all forget — you might not be here tomorrow. And I might not either. And someone you really, really love… you get it. The time to write letters is NOW.
Welcome! It’s really good to have you.
It's spring time and I'm happy to help.
Just send me an email message if you have questions.
I will be happy to hear from you!
