It’s been six weeks since I did the bravest thing I’ve done so far in this life, performing my one-woman-show called Making Love to Fear. For those of you who couldn’t attend in person, or those who came and want to see it again or show it to loved ones… the film is now ready! You can find it here.
If you came up to see the show from San Diego or down from Humboldt, over from the East Bay or Napa, or up from Marin or San Francisco… Thank you.
If you came from down the street… Thank you.
I remember your gleaming souls shimmering attentively through bright eyes as you quietly cheered me on, leaning toward me in your seats with your piercing presence of soulful support... Thank you.
When I was tempted to feel self-conscious during one of the dance or singing pieces, instead I chose to look at you — and your Love lit up the stage beneath my feet… Thank you.
Last summer when I booked the theater venue, its Executive Director told me, “There are so many women who would love to do what you are doing… yet they never will.”
When I heard this, it struck me that I’m either crazy or my 2021 near death experience shot bolts of courage into my soul that led me to do things that felt truly crazy. I had never written, produced and performed a one-woman-show telling deeply personal stories of addiction, trauma and severe pain from my very own, real human life.
How did I do it? With tons of support from living angels.
As sleep deprived as I was for months (not proud, just being honest), I lived inside the contrast of prolonged exhaustion and streaming golden honey. Energetically, I felt like a golden stream of honey was spilling all around me, and people wanted to play in that honey with me. My two Co-Directors, my photographer, guitarist and pianist, my backstage angel, the list goes on, we were like bees in this golden stream... Thank you.
Thanks to Humans Being Media for their excellent filmmaking art in capturing this unforgettable experience. The film is 1 hr 25 minutes long and you can watch it here. Once you do, I would appreciate hearing how it landed — specifically, if you felt moved to love yourself more fiercely, as a result.
Be well~
Jessica
