Our bodies do not lie. They can’t; they’re far too wise to hide the truth. Whether you like it or not, you are living in impeccably honest masterpiece. The same goes for our Mother Earth’s body. And these days, she is screaming in agony.
If we want our own bodies to be well, we listen to them. We don’t wait until they have to yell to get our attention.
If we want a planet to live on — we will listen to our Mother Earth.
Sayings become cliché for a reason. Part of why ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’ is globally famous because it is extremely powerful, and because we humans need to hear it until we accept its potency.
I’ll rephrase it.
When we want to see something in the world outside of us, we choose to be that change, in our own lives.
Simple. Far from easy.
If we want a planet to live on — we will listen to her body and our own.
While we’re here, let’s note: However admirable Gandhi is, “be the change” was never proven to be said by him. What has been proven is that, in 1970, Brooklyn school teacher Arleen Lorrance said, “Be the change you want to see happen instead of trying to change anyone else.” (Thanks, Professor Buzzkill.)
Remember, truth can be uncomfortable.
The cause of planetary abuse, which has created our current climate crisis, is fear in the form of deeply rooted self hatred.
Only when a human soul is self loathing can it choose to knowingly violate the air its own body breathes, rape its own planetary Life support system, watch its own home be choked, witnessing Mother Earth’s gasp and yet continue to abuse her.
Yes, that’s horrid. Truth isn’t always sweet.
Fear can only be healed by one thing — and that is Love.
How is your body whispering or screaming for your Love? Is it asking you…
To spend less time with screens and more with trees?
To drink less beer and more electrolytes?
To smoke less and play more?
To sit less and move more?
To love it before it dies?
Now is the time. You’re the one your own precious body needs most.
To my women readers: Together, we are rising to own our power. If we want a home for our children — it is time for a world led by the divine feminine — a world led by Love. Our wombs know Love’s oneness. Let’s not wait until our life support system is wailing in even deeper agony.
Sometimes Love is sweet and tender. These days, it is time for women to embrace our capacity to lead from ferocious Love. Not the “Pretty please?” kind we’ve been told is ladylike.
