Live Life Turned on in Love
radical aliveness is your human right
One morning while hiking, a sextet of words rose up from my thighs.
As I climbed the steep hill, mental chaos was whisked away by the vibrancy of my lungs and beating heart and I ‘heard’ —
live Life
turned on
in Love
Ahhhh…
The words made complete and blissful sense to my soul.
Each pair of words captured one of the most significant ways I choose to create the Life I want. When fully chosen, the embodiment represented by each pair leads to a feeling of —
Radical aliveness.
All that in just six words!? This potent 6-word recipe arose from the choice to get out of my head and into my body. Let’s break it down pair by pair so you can feel each piece.
live Life
There is a big difference between being alive and being fully alive.
Most people spend their days with dimmed zest, groaning about their job or their ex, waiting for retirement. Or they hectically zoom through their days, never pausing to notice the beauty that calls their name in each moment of Now.
Some people walk with a skip in their step, responding in self-worth to Life’s invitation to enjoy it, even though they might not like their job, or they might be in a marriage that could really use a boost.
On the far end of the spectrum, there are people who are totally alive.
They create connectively rich relationships.
They feel fully, maturely processing their emotions.
They’re in touch with their passions, their days woven of authenticity.
Their presence enlivens the room. In response, some people around them feel sparked, energized. Others feel threatened, criticizing the vibrant one as a projection of their own self-judgment and choice to postpone aliveness instead of choosing it now.
Life is sacred, and “live Life” refers to the choice to fully live your one, authentic, precious Life. The word Life is capitalized intentionally, as it is just as precious as other significant words we capitalize — like countries, song titles and God.
turned on
These words point us to tend to the animal inside. Being ‘turned on’ includes feeling erotically stimulated, yes, and this can extend far beyond the bedroom. A woman who is fully turned on is lucidly lit-up by vital Life force, embodying gratitude for the gift of her own wild body.
When we are living ‘turned-on’, we express our joy and our passion, our authentic gifts and spirit’s desire to share them. We don’t withhold these gems of goodness out of fear; if we did, we wouldn’t be living turned on.
A woman who is turned on magnetically attracts soul mates and soul allies, because her embodiment is a vivid magnet for people who are a match for her.
in Love
Being in Love is much simpler than society has made it out to be. To be in Love is to be in a state of Love, to have your awareness rooted in the truth of who you are. Being in Love is to be tethered to the great superpower called Love.
For me, it started when I was 8 and told my parents, “Love is my religion.” For you it might have happened 10 years ago, or you might be ready to choose this way today.
Living in Love is not a path without pain; it simply lets you face pain more gracefully. It is a brave way to live, because being “in Love” will invite fear to surface, so it can be healed. A famous artist once told me, “You’re dangerous.” Years later when we reconnected in person, he said, “I was afraid of you.” When I asked him why, he said that my way of deeply seeing him, and my heightened Eros-fed Life force, both felt scary to him. He wasn’t ready for those things until now. Love is a threat to fear.
Although being in Love is not a path of pure rose petals, it definitely amps up the bliss and beauty in our days. It connects us universally to a land outside of right and wrong, where we can make more meaningful connections with others, ourselves, and the divine.
